Or.....maybe she was wondering if any of the abductees were living normal lives and perhaps if they were then there would be hope for her to live a normal life too. I like the idea that she was wondering if they had children. I love your ideas about Mulder sensing something might happen and wanting to keep her safe. That is exactly the impression I got.
