I *LOVE* Tony Hillerman's "Navajo mysteries". I started reading them years ago (back in the 80s, I guess), long before I'd ever even heard of "XF".
CW, I don't know if you read fanfic at all, but one of my stories is a crossover between XF and the Hillerman novels. It has Mulder and Scully meeting up with Jim Chee.
Anyway, if you want to read it, the name of the story is "Desert Nights" and it's on my website. There's a link to it at the "Fanfic Links" section of the main page of these forums. You need a password to read the stories and it is: avalanche
Fair warning: this story is very long and it also has a couple of sex scenes between Mulder and Scully. I realize that's not everyone's cup of tea.
