I really liked JoAnn. For one thing, they did a good job of casting a woman who actually looked like a middle-aged mother of two teenage kids; they didn't make her too sexy but they didn't go to the other extreme and make her ultra-frumpy either. Granted, she wasn't as pretty as Scully, but IMHO she was definitely the more attractive spouse in the Fletcher family!! And I don't think her desire to save her marriage was all that unusual. For whatever reason, she *LOVED* Morris. One of my fave scenes is when Morris and Mulder (in each other's bodies) or in the bar and JoAnn is crying; I think that scene was the one where Morris began to have doubts about staying in Mulder's life. . .for all his *MANY* faults as a husband, it obviously tore him apart to watch JoAnn crying.
You misunderstood me about which Morris/Mulder JoAnn might want, CW. I thought at the end where she has a man who *LOOKS* (to her; to us it looked like Morris)like Mulder but who is spouting off all their shared memories of their wedding and their daughter's birth. . .that she might be tempted to say, "Oh, honey, it's you!! I don't mind if you now look ten years younger and ten times sexier. We'll work things out."
I also liked the young, dark-haired man-in-black (did we ever find out his name?) who stopped the cars to "set things right" there at the end. He *said* he was doing it in order to get his own "spotless career record" restored but I kind of had the feeling there was more to it than that. . .like he realized everybody needed to be in their own lives.
Thanks, for taking this trip down memory lane with me, CW, and responding to all my posts. I was hoping some of the others might want to join us, but maybe they don't have access the season six eps. I'm actually watching the eps more quickly than I had planned, mostly because my hubby keeps wanting to watch them, so I'll post after I watch and you can respond after you've had time to watch those eps.
