Mulder apparently used the water bed from the end of Dreamland until it busted in Monday and then it was back to the couch. But some time later he gpt another conventional bed. Isn't the first time we see that in Biogenesis?? So either he got used to having a bed and decided he wanted one or perhaps he had a special reason he needed one. Not that I'm supporting IG's theory or anything. ;-D I could suggest it was for Fowley since she was hanging around at that time but I do not wish to make anyone ill by such thoughts!
Maybe when he said it was a "gift" he thought Scully had put it in his apartment as a big hint.
Kind of odd behavior to find a waterbed in one's apartment and then just stasrt sleeping in it without question so maybe he thought Scully had done it.

Monday is one of my favorites. It's an extra cute Mulder episode between the yellow wet PJs and for some reason he looks especially good in his coat in this one. And Carrie Hamilton did a nice job as Pam. One of the stronger guest performances. So sad about her death.

An old Twilight Zone episode called Shadow Play used the repeated day premise but I think someone on the old XF boards posted that the story concept was even older than that, like ancient tale perhaps? "Monday" did a good job with the concept. I liked the scenes in the boring meeting too when either Mulder or Scully kept running off leaving Skinner looking annoyed.
