Okay, I skipped "Alpha" because it's stupid. Also, it's yet another ep in which we have some ugly chick coming onto Mulder and him actually seeming to have some *conflict* over whether he should stick with Scully or try to pursue the other woman. I had all I could stomach of that in "One Son", so it was onto "Trevor" for me.
"Trevor" was a good, solid X-File ep. If I had to choose one episode from season six to show to somebody who'd never seen XF before, in order to give them an idea of what the show was all about, I think I'd probably pick this one. Mulder and Scully were in their traditional believer and skeptic roles and nobody time travelled, leaped into someone else's body, went undercover or anything like that. There was a tiny hint of UST in some of their banter but nothing major-league shippy. Plus the show was *scary* in a way that many season six eps weren't. Pinker's powers were weird, but they skimmed right along the edge of "scientifically feasible, even if highly unlikley" and "absolutely impossible". . .which is the line XF is supposed to walk, but so often doesn't. Also, I always enjoy eps where Mulder acts less like an alien-and-conspiracy-obssessed wacko and more like an actual FBI agent. . .as he did in this ep when he was coordinating the local law enforcement's hunt for Pinker, shooting the stun gun, etc.
