‘‘The X-Files: The Complete Seventh Season’’
David Duchovny’s final full season marked the creative swan song for the series, which petered out into drab melodrama in its last two years as other cast members took center stage and new ones joined to fill the void. Season seven had a good mix of creepy chills and comic relief for Duchovny’s agent Mulder and Gillian Anderson’s agent Scully. Highlights include a spoof episode written and directed by Duchovny that featured wife Tea Leoni and buddy Garry Shandling as Hollywood incarnations of Scully and Mulder. The six-disc set has 22 episodes, plus 10 deleted scenes with commentary from series creator Chris Carter, a documentary and commentary on three full episodes from Carter, Anderson and others. DVD set, $149.98. (20th Century Fox)
