"Kill Switch" isn't a great ep, but it's definitely my fave among the "technology run amok" type eps that we seemed to get at least one of per season. I liked the way all three of the Gunmen went a little nuts over Esther! Oddly enough, while this wasn't a particularly shippy ep in the sense of anything Mulder and Scully did with or said to each other, the relationship between Esther and David -- which was the heart of this ep -- basically centered around the great debate that X-Philes had for years in regard to the MSR: If a man and woman truly love each other, is it purer and nobler for them to seek intimacy only at the emotional/intellectual level, while ignoring their physical yearnings? Or does true intimacy between a man and a woman require sexual expression, as well as emotional and intellectual bonding?
"Bad Blood" is one of my all time favorite episodes. It's simply *hilarious*! I love everything about it; Mulder and Scully's conflicting stories, the goofy vampire sheriff, Mulder singing the theme song to "Shaft", the "I was drugged!" line and the expresion of disbelief on Skinner's face at the end. What's also notable about it in terms of the MSR is that, while Mulder and Scully's versions of what happened differed in many details, they seemed in agreement that they were sharing a hotel room.
