Yes, there was a Harry Anderson series that ran for a couple of seasons during the mid-90s that was based on Dave Barry's life and/or writings. (His writings are pretty much based on his life, so it more or less amounts to the same thing.)
I also think the theory I've outlined above could be used to explain Mulder's "How was your Christmas?" remark to Scully in "Millennium". Since they were together for Christmas in both seasons five and six, and exchanged presents in season six, it was unlikely they wouldn't have had some sort of Christmas celebration together. They might not have been with each other actually on Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, if they were spending time with their respective families, but presumably they would have exchanged presents at some point and also spoken on the phone sometime between December 25th and December 30th (the date "Millennium" began). But there were other agents around, so I think Mulder was trying to make it look like he and Scully had only a casual, working relationship with each other.
