I was born in the very last year of the "baby boom". So, technically, I'm part of that generation, but whenever I read news articles about "boomers", they are always about people four or more years my senior.
My mother is kind of caught in this generational dead zone, too. She was born in the late 1930s and was a young child during World War II. She complains that a lot of history books, new articles, etc. always jump from the generation that actually fought in World War II to the generation that was born after the war ended, with no mind paid to those who were children during the war.
