Subject: Memento Mori cut scene

My season four DVDs (I know I keep bringing them up but I can't help it I'm just in love with them) has a deleted scenes section from several S4 episodes. Most of them seem inconsequential, but the one from Memento Mori was kind of big and I'm glad they cut it out.

When Scully is in the hospital they cut out a scene where her brother Bill visits her in the hospital. She's asleep, having a dream about her father (a flashback from S2 when she was in the coma after her abduction), and she wakes up to see a man dressed in a uniform and out of focus. She looks startled and says "Dad?". He steps into the light and we see that it's Bill. He says in a bitter tone "You were expecting someone else?" He then goes on to berate her for all of her life choices and blame her for Melissa's death and tell her that it's her fault that she's sick and she's causing her mother so much pain. It was a terrible scene and I can't imagine any of my relatives being so mean to me when it's quite possible I could die in the near future. It made me sick to my stomach. In the commentary Chris Carter says that he loves this scene but they had to delete it strictly because of time. In my opinion, leaving it in would have been a huge mistake. Memento Mori was an emotional enough episode without that.

Has anyone else seen this cut scene? What did you think?
