1.) "The Pine Bluff Variant". It was very "different" for an X-Files ep in that nobody - even Mulder - thought there was anything supernatural or extra-terrestrial going on. And the conspiracy was *against* the government, not within it! The scene where Mulder walks into his apartment and Scully's there telling him "It's okay; I know what's going on" is one of my all-time faves. Also, I really loved Skinner in this ep! I think I liked it so much because it showed that Mulder really is a very good FBI agent. Yes, he prefers his own little XF-fiefdom, with Scully by his side, but when he has to he'll do more mainstream stuff and do it quite well!
2.) "Rush" from season seven. I have a hard time explaining *why* I like this episode, I just do. It wasn't particularly shippy (usually something that I look for in a fave ep)but all the elements of a classic X-File - weird stuff going on in a small town, sceptic Scully and paranormal-accepting Mulder - seemed especially well-done in this one.
3.) "The Amazing Maleeni" also from season seven. This was just a "fun" ep. Not hilariously funny, but lighthearted and enjoyable. It, also, was one of the few where there was nothing paranormal going on.
