Well, I guess Mulder didn't change so much over time but Scully has. Looks wise I mean. As I watch second season eps on FX, Scully seems heavier (but not fat by any means!) and her outfits are like what a business woman would wear.

I don't know the FBI's dress code for women but I would assume its conservative unless one is undercover. As the years went by, Scully was made much more sexy and GA got thinner.

Now thats perfectly OK but it seems to coincide with the series getting more superficial. Scully had more scenes with her in hotter climates wearing short sleve or no sleve t-shirts.

The thing of it is, I was more convinced M & S really were FBI agents in the early years because they dressed professionally, they spoke very intelligently, they weren't sex symbols (not yet anyway!) and they were 2 relatively unknown actors. A "new face" is very convincing compared to a veteran actor in a role who brings with him/her their past roles and personality. I had seen DD in "The Rapture" but totally forgot him in it until after TXF was a hit and I saw the film again.

I applaud the fact that CC stuck with GA as opposed to a Pam Anderson look-a-like the way Fox wanted. Not to put down hot chicks but I hate a show with one as a cop or a doctor or some professional job. Unrealistic, if your that good looking you don't go for such a job or if you do, I bet you can't keep up the sexy look due to job related stress. So, I'm thankful we got GA who seems like real person. Only thing is, Fox still sort of had their way as she did get sexier as the show went on. But thats fine, a better way to do it.

Anyway, remembering them when they were "new" is now hard as I'm so used to those 2. And I'm thinking how old I'm getting when I see early 90s stuff in an ep as "dated".
