Subject: det, you're ep was on yesterday

Detoured that is. Better than I had remembered it. Great M/S scenes. That other FBI couple perhaps was a warning to us that M/S would be annoying if they were a romantic couple. That whole talk between them in the forest was classic, it even included continuity as Scully discusses her cancer. The ending kind of dragged it out unnecessarily, Mulder running to save Scully and then...nothing happens. The spookiness of the ep is the kind of XF I love, these last 2 years haven't been of this quality. One more quible, does Florida have woods like that? And is north-western Florida so cool as to require those heavy jackets M/S were wearing?

The Indian Guides mentioned by Mulder is an actual organization. Yours truly was a member. It was sponsered by the YMCA and was a father/son deal. Back in the 70s, my dad and I joined and we were put in with other fathers and sons to form "tribes". Not very politically correct, is it. We all had "Indian" names: mine was Straight Arrow (I could find my way through the woods) and my father was Sleeping Bear(no explaination necessary). We went camping and hiking alot. Never learned how to make a fire, though. The sons would play and the fathers would drink beer. As time went by, the YMCA ended the program but we kept meeting on our own. Then the fathers brought the wives and daughters along too. Then the kids got older and didn't want to go anymore but the parents had become such buddies, they kept it up on their own. Of course the camping is over with, now its just cookouts with lots of beer drinking. Mulder bringing that up reminded me of my childhood, those writers did their homework as Mulder is the right age for that group as I assume when our group was cancelled, everyone else's was too.
