Mulder brings up the Mothman incident from West Virginia in the 1930s. Now I believe that recent Richard Gere movie, The Mothman Prophesies, was also connected to this incident. Thing is, I don't know anything about the real deal. From what I heard, the Gere movie wasn't good. Once again, the writers of TXF bring up obscure unexplained phenomena. They must have watched all of In Search Of back in the 70s. This is a quality lacking in recent years, they may have run out of weird sources as every other TV show and movie is ripping off TXF.
