that today's programming is aimed at the younger generation. The executives are forgetting that the baby boomers (of which I can lay claim to being) typically have a lot more money to spend on these advertiser's products. If the shows that are put on television are not watched by those of us who are done raising kids and have the dollars to spend, the advertisers are loosing big time. It's their loss, not mine.

Many of my contemporaries are much like myself in that we have many things to do besides wasting time parked on the couch watching crap on television. Maybe that's one big generational difference also, as we weren't raised/babysat in front of a tv set. Our parents chased us outside to play and when in High School, many of us were so busy with studying, extra curricular activities, jobs, etc. that we just have not gotten into that habit.

As for the messages being sent regarding sex, love, passion, etc. by the industry, I also find it offensive. The messages are mixed up to say the least. IG said it well--and I have to add that when the films and programs use the terms of love, sex, promiscuity and passion indiscriminately and interchangeably, I become just plain angry. I like and agree with BDM in that what is NOT shown is actually better than seeing the full-meal-deal. Let the imagination take over, rather than the typical in-your-face images we get stuck with.
