Subject: "Miracle Man"

This was kind of an interesting episode, mainly because both Mulder *and* Scully seemed to be sceptical of the Miracle Man's healing powers. . .Scully because it's her nature and Mulder because Samuel (the MM) attributed his powers directly to God and that always seems to make Mulder nervous. Samuel was an interesting character; his doubts in his own abilities (or, to be more precise, his doubts in his power to control his ability) made him more sympathetic than he otherwise might have been. And, finally, the actual solution to the deaths was nothing more than an old-fashioned murder mystery, making it one of the rare cases where Scully was "right". (Except that Mulder wasn't really arguing for her to accept a supernatural explanation, anyway.)
Despite all that, the episode seems sort of. . .flat. It wasn't particularly scary and neither Mulder nor Scully was ever in any kind of danger. Yet, it wasn't a "light-hearted" ep, either.
