I thoufght it was ok but not particulary engaging. Kind of flat, as you say. It had some cute Mulderisms in it though like his Elvis joke. I remember it being rare in that it was Scully this time who presented the case to Mulder in the office.

You know what bugged me about this episode though? The little girl they had playing Samantha. She looked so not like how Sam is supposed to look. Not like the one in the Conduit photo or the one we know best in Herrenvolk, Little Green Men, etc. This was before most of those but it just doesn't fit whenever I see this episode.
