Subject: I love Tooms!
In reply to: CW 's message, "I know--it's just the thought that makes me shudder!" on 22:51:54 07/28/02 Sun

I just got around to reading this thread, haven't been to this board in awhile. Tooms is one of my all time favorite episodes. It's creepy, it's a bit scary, it's a little gross, there is suspense, and there is character development. What's not to like?

I think I've mentioned this before, but Exeter Street, where Tooms lived, is right down the street from my old house. I used to drive past it every day and get a little shudder thinking of the episode. Also, the very first scene of the episode, where they have a sort of panning veiw of downtown Baltimore, I swear that's the same shot they use in tv promos for the city. It cracks me up since I wouldn't want to visit a town where Eugene Tooms lives!

I was also cracking up RE: the sharing food discussion! I suppose that is a sign of intimacy, but in my (noromo) mind, nothing more than friendship. Tonight, for instance, I shared a bowl of soup with a friend. Same spoon even, since our waitress sucked and never brought us another one. And my roommate and I are always drinking after each other and sharing food. Of course, we do refer to each other as common law husband and wife. "Everything but the sex!" That's the motto anyway. Hey! Just like Mulder and Scully, hehe.
