If it had any significance to Mulder and Scully, or if somehow the action of this episode had any bearing on another ep, then yes - the 'shippiness' you describe might have meant something. But as with so many of very silly but not very funny eps, the interaction between M & S is turned into a jokey thing and I'm not very good at believing in those eps, because they don't really add anything genuine to the M & S relationship. Jokes are jokes and I just don't trust in the action of these joky aps, to be really telling me anything genuine. Does that make sense?
