Subject: Can I put in my two cents?

This has to be one of the best discussions on Paper Hearts I can remember reading. I too was a little irked at Teena when she wouldn't answer Mulder's questions--that is until it came to me that maybe the answers would send him right into a situation that would kill him or at least harm his health/mind. Somehow I thought that she killed herself after seeing him in the hospital and knew (or thought she knew) he had "gone" where she didn't want him to go. I know they said she had a rare cancer but I think at that point in time she had no hope for his recovery which must have been what sent her over the edge. I also think she was afraid that Mulder would hate her for not standing up to his dad, for not protecting Samantha or for what she knew and wouldn't tell him. Since he was the only family she really had left, she may have decided to hang on to him as long as she could.

One other thing I just thought of, Bill Mulder was sick--on meds in the episode where he is killed but not too much information given on what was wrong with him. Teena Mulder comes down with a rare cancer after having a stroke earlier in the story. Anyhow--does anybody wonder along with me, if maybe the families as well as members of the consortium who were "rebels" within the group might have been experimented on without (or with) their permission and now their aging bodies are showing the side effects?

As for Paper Hearts--Maybe Mulder has the ability to read minds--get into their thoughts literally but as a result, the bad guys can get into his once he invades their minds???
