Being isolated from the behind the scenes info about XF I often don't give the writers , music person etc much thought. I don't know many of them or their working styles etc. I tend to rely mainly on 'CC's dramatic effects' as you put it rather than what I know about the technical/creative stuff although there are some eps where the technical/creative stuff does jump out and grab you. It has to be obvious if I am to think of it though.

I think some eps are not meant to fit into the time line of XF. Take Rain King for eg. It doesn' fit anywhere except maybe in the MSR development timeline. I tend to think of Rain King to not even be an X File ep, just a nice funny ep starring M and S. I like Rain King alot but it just doesn't fit.

What do you think of Arcadia? Remember how it was supposed to be number 3 in the line up , or somewhere early like that? Then it ended up being shown later. I can't remember the exact place in the timeline so you might be able to enlighten me. I think in this instant I watched the ep with the original air date in mind rather than where it stood in the actual time line of events.

Remember how standoffish Scully was with Mulder in this ep? How businesslike she tried to make the whole case? I thought that might have been due to the fact that this ep was supposed to be shown directly after 'One Son' where he was quite untrusting of her and more trusting of the Fowl one. I thought she probably had the s**ts with him still. But the ep aired after Agua Mala and a couple of others so it kind of didn't fit as far as the attitude of Scully went. I could be wrong with my timings here so please put me straigh if I am.
What are your thoughts on this?

Stardoe
