I"m glad you have found some XF mates in the real world. I find that people in my age group aren't into anything fun or exciting or outthere like XF. NOone likes sci fi as I do, like Far scape and Star Gate, etc. They all think I'm ratty for liking such stuff. They think it is for kids. Or rather, the younger set. As if I'm old :-)

People in my age bracket [30's] are too serious and bogged down with the boring realities of their lives....the never ending round of running kids to 20 different sporting events each weekend and arvo after school, husbands who never help out at home and run off on their own sporting persuits,boring jobs that they hate having or want to have etc that noone is even interesting in anything that might be fun. My XF netting is my fun. My kids are small so I am not running to sport every day but as I don't have time for a sport of my own right now, XFnetting is my hobby at the moment.

Most people I know who watch or have watched XF just do that....watch. They don't listen, they don't hear, they don't see and they certainly don't think. That is what I love about netting...the thinking and discussion, speculation etc. It's fun. Other people just don't get it.

I like to net because that's the only place I get to talk with people who like XF. And noone gets sick of it. If they do they just stop reading or writing or whatever. Everyone can take a break whenever they want or they can talk/type as much as they want. I think the well known internet connection has alot to do with the weird stigma XF has. Here at least.
