If we had seen this ep where it should have gone, before LB, then we would not have liked it as much I don't think. [Not that I really like it at all anyway]We would have had some pretty scathing things to say. Like why on earth couldn't the usless woman go out and drag in her own bloody desk???!!!
I think this ep fitted perfectly between LB and MM. For one reason, that it led us to believe that Scully was keeping the cancer thing from Mulder and perhaps denying it herself.
I certainly read the ep as... Scully worrying about the fact that LB tried to eat her bit of cancer, her bloody nose and delaying the inevitable....finding out for sure. This would certainly send someone "off". I can't think of any other reason why she would want to be so down and picky. Its not her. I would expect Scully to just come out and tell Mulder off about him not getting her a desk and for always taking her for granted. But she didn't . She sat around and moped and talked her self around in circles. She wandered off sulking during interviews with clients, she sat and stared at a rose petal in a most pathetic way. This is not the feisty Scully that we know and love. This was a woman tortured by the fact that her life may be at an end and she was scared to find out if it were true. Wondering if her life had been wasted or not as fullfilling as it could have been. She went off and brazenly took risks with a wierdo stranger. Stupid Scully. I think NA fitted perfectly and this airdate saved Morgan and Wong's great reputation from slipping. I never thought I'd ever say this but three cheers for sport on TV. [Blaghck! Did I really say that?]

Stardoe, who is sick to death of only having tennis and cricket and cricket and cricket and cricket to watch on TV at the moment.
