Subject: Letting go vs. being smart

In the first season ep Genderbender Scully commented abot how surprised she was that one of the victims had had a one night stand with a total stranger. The implication was that in this day and age of diseases and such she thought it was poor judgement. I think it said something about her charater development especially being a medical professional.

Scully is smart. Now I wouldn't mind her letting go and having fun and maybe Muder would get to like it. ;-)
But I think her actions with Ed Jerse were a bit careless on her part though I *can* see her behaving like that. But with Milagro I thought she was way off the mark. This guy had serious stalkin characteristics and yet she was drawn to him like those victims in Genderbender. Where did her common sense go? Are we supposed to believe this is the kind of guy Scully goes for? Having an attraction to someone with a air of danger about them is one thing (Mulder's certainly surounded by danger! Maybe that's why she stays ;-) ) but I felt her behavior in these two eps esp. Milagro was a bit too far gone for Scully. Plus it usually ends up with her looking like the helpless, foolish woman because Mulder has to save her from these guys.
