Subject: Syzygy: All this happened because of the stars?

Ok, I meant to write my Syzygy review just after I saw it, but unfortunately my roommate began whining "But I need to write a paper! I need the computer! It's important!" I could have told her to go buy herself a computer and leave me alone, but I'm too nice.

So now the memories aren't as fresh in my mind, but I still had some issues with this episode. I've always done my best to avoid spoilers of episodes I haven't seen yet, and I did an OK job with this one. I had heard a few things, but didn't remember them until they happened.

First off, Mulder and Scully's behavior bothered me severely. Even after I discovered the reasoning behind the behavior, I still didn't like it one bit. So because of the alignment of the planets and the location of this town Mulder publicly degrades Scully and drinks, and Scully smokes and acts like a total witch? I don't buy it. And even if I did buy it, I hated seeing the two of them act the way they did so much that I wouldn't have liked it. They were just too mean.

Now, this Agent White. I had heard about Agent White before, and somehow pictured her to be different than she was in the episode. She seemed a little...is abrasive the word I'm looking for?

Ok, maybe I just abhor astrology, I don't know. But this whole episode was a little too out there for me. Let me get this straight. These two girls were born on the same day (in the same year as I was born, might I add), and 16ish years later they become evil and posessing these special powers? How did they become aware of these powers in the first place? And were they completely unaware of their actions? Why does doing this make them happy? ALL BECAUSE OF THE STARS??

I have to say that I enjoyed seeing Berg from Two Guys and A Girl in the teaser, though I knew he was going to die the second I saw him. Berg gets around; he was also in the Sabrina the Teenage Witch Movie, which I enjoyed thank you very much!

Speaking of Berg, after they show him dead, did they just not find the two happy girls playing "he loves me, he loves me not?" on a picnic blanket above where he hung himself? And who exactly were they "he loves me"ing about? Berg? Or that other guy who we'll meet in the future, Scott whats his name who looks like the bad boyfriend from Teenwolf?

Now, back to this astrology thing. Like I said before, I abhor it. But even so, just because some cash happy psychic told Mulder what happened that automatically makes it right?

So, could these girls tell that what they were doing was wrong? Or did they have no choice because of the alignment of the planets? They ceratainly overreacted a few times, that's for sure.

Here is something else I'm confused about. These boys had been getting killed for three months, and all of this violence culminated on the birthdays. But how long are the planets aligned? Is it all over just because the girls birthday ended?

I'm going to have to watch this episode again. But I don't know if I want to, what with Mulder and Scully being so mean and weird.

I was always under the impression that everyone liked this episode. Is that true? Because while it certainly kept me interested, it also just freaked me out a little.
