Subject: Milagro review

We suddenly had a change of episode on Saturday night on the BBC. Instead of the scheduled 'Agua Mala' we saw 'Milagro' coupled with 'Monday'. Aren't we missing 'Arcadia' somewhere? In the S6 Ep lists, 'Arcadia' comes after 'One Son'. Is that not the order they were aired in the US?

To business: a bit of a shipper's paradise this one (I don't put myself in that category, BTW, those who don't know) Padgett sussed out Scully's character pretty well, almost too well! I think this is the most emotionally vulnerable I have seen Scully in a long time. At this stage in S6, was she moving towards a new understanding of her feelings for Mulder? "Loneliness is a choice". Well, yes, needs must when Mulder is not making any progress to change their relationship! I think I agree with Padgett that "She's only trying to get his [Mulder's] attention but she doesn't know it". As I said, Padgett made a very good character study of Scully. A question: how come Mulder can show this annoyed, jealous reaction to her making a male friend "I'm assuming that's a priore too?" (The fact that Scully sleeps with the writer's alter ego in the novel) and yet he himself is not making a move on Scully? In some old-fashioned way, Scully seems to wait for him to make a move of some kind, and though she seems to be hoping he will, she is unconsciously trying to push things forward. I see them as being stuck in some kind of impasse these days. After the movie's HWS near-kiss, there hasn't been any developments.

I appreciate I am talking about a whole season and a half ago, for those who are heading towards S8, but this is how I see the psychology at this point.

As for the XF - it was interesting, but why didn't the killer actually kill Scully? He was going after her heart, wasn't he? Did he chicken out? A thought provoking ep for MSR followers anyway. What does anyone else think?
