Everyone has said that Milagro was a really good episode for shippers, but I thought it was really good for everyone. It reminded me a bit of the old XF, where the MSR could in an episode without it being the center of an episode. Maybe it's just my jaded view, but it seems to me that most episodes that are somewhat heavy on the MSR are always a bit light on XF.

But I digress.

Milagro was so good on so many levels. The Sean Penn lookalike writer was sufficiently creepy without being over the top or stupid. I actually felt bad for the guy. I mean, he obviously had mental problems on top of the whole 'making things I write come true' ability, but he still just seemed like a guy who wanted a normal life. He was just so socially inept that he had to resort to stalking.

I personally didn't get why Milagro was supposed to be so shippy. Was is because Padgett said that Scully was already in love? Because the guy was hardly mentally stable. Or was it because of the way Scully clung to Mulder at the end? Personally I'd be clinging to anyone like that after almost having my heart ripped out of my chest, you know?

You know what was weird about this episode? Mulder and Scully really didn't do anything, unless I remember incorrectly. If anything it was Mulder fault that Scully almost died. The Stranger (has anyone ever read that book? It was weird. Those crazy existentialists) would have never even gotten to Scully if Mulder hadn't been meddling with Padgett.

Here is some trivia for everyone. In an episode of that Sci Fi show The Burning Zone, Nicholas Lea played a character named Phillip Padgett. Weird?
