I actually liked this ep. I admit, it wasn't as good as Ice, but I almost always like the eps where they are trapped somewhere and some bug or icky thing is lurking to get them. Darkness Falls and Ice are by far the best, but I like Firewalker too. (Am I the only one who likes Firewalker? :)
As for the cat/washing machine thing, um, later at the apartments Mulder realizes the cat isn't hurt because it's out in the rain, and the wormy things won't get you if you're wet, and the cat knew to hide in the washing machine water, I think....
