Subject: Scully's behavior in Muy Agua Mala...
In reply to: Scully'sMyHero 's message, "It's fresh water" on 19:41:58 08/01/00 Tue

as it's called by some.
Well it really was that one scene which had Scully displaying unforgivable behaviour by leaving Mulder out in the hall. I don't care if she had to deliver a baby and there was a gun on her. Mulder had a gun pointed at him in Firewalker but that didn't stop him from running after Scully. Mulder could have died out in that hall! That whole sequence of events was poorly done. It made Scully seem whimpy by not taking more action. I would much rather have seen her take control of the situation and stand up to that gunmen and tell the father to take care of his wife while she went out and saved Mulder.
I felt she really let her partner down big time.
I think this was the general consensus at the time on why we didn't like Scully. And it's not that we don't like her, just that her character was written poorly in this one.

And to top it off we had that scene with Dales at the end that made no sense. Why does he say Scully saved Mulder's life? She did nothing! The cat saved him! There may have been some bad editing done on this one.
Yes the whole, "pointing out their special relationship" didn't read well.

I agree with you SMH on Dales. I didn't care for how he was used in this ep. I like the character but I didn't like what was done with him here.
