Subject: Baseball and that alien green blood

I read a quote from DD where he said he's a bigger basketball fan than a baseball fan but basketball wouldn't work for this type of story. I agree, basketball just doesn't have the history and passion that baseball does. It just carries a lot more meaning. DD obviously knows the game of baseball very well though.

They had to keep the brother's name the same because they had already shot the scenes with the younger Dales and Exley and he's called Arthur throughout the episode. I suppose they could have had Arthur's brother just really the story of his brother to Mulder but I don't think that would have been nearly as effective. I love how DD rewrote those scenes though. They also have a sister named Arthur! LOL I enjoyed M. Emmett Walsh's performance in this a lot and he did it on very short notice.

I think one person taking a bite from another's ice cream cone definately implies a very intimate gesture. You may have heard that it appears from interviews that DD is a shipper.

I thought Exley was a very friendly alien and a great idea from DD because I'd never thought of that before. CC always presented the aliens as the bad guys and this opens the door to the thought that there might be a faction of alien earth sympathisers who don't want their 'people' to take over our planet. DD has really added a lot to the mythology along the way. He created the Alien Bounty Hunter in the first place didn't he?
He really put a lot in this episode. Not just a stand alone but some mythology too!

So what do you think of how the green blood fit in with what we were discussing earlier about One Son? Exley said the blood was toxic but there have been other cases where it wasn't nd then we wondered if it was just the hybrid blood that was toxic. I assume Exley wasn't a hybrid. Can this all makes sense or did DD slip up on that aspect? (I won't fault him if he did!).

I didn't really think about DD being an only child. I knew he had a brother and also a younger sister. I guess she didn't want to be in the ep. I don't think Daniel wants to act (and frankly he wasn't very good in his scene where he had a bit of dialog). DD prabably just wanted him in it for fun or maybe Daniel asked. (Ron Howard always puts his whole family in all his movies.) I know Daniel directs TV commercials and stuff and should probabaly stick with that rather than acting. And I guess D got the good looks in the family!
