I was a lot nicer to the Yankees in my posts than I could have been! I hate the Yankees! I hate the Atlanta Braves more though. It's hard to know who to root for when they are both in the World Series but I leaned toward the Yankees which made me cringe to do so!

If Devlin doesn't know Lou Gehrig she might know Gary Cooper! He played him in the film, Pride of the Yankees. Gehrig was an exceptional man known for his personal character and not just his playing. Sandy Koufax has that reputation too.

Maybe the term 'yankee' only goes back as far as WWI or II. I'm not sure. Btw in case you guys weren't sure, I found out the term 'yankee' that the Brits gave the US soldiers is a reference to a certain activity a man might do when he's alone. Yanking...Um, hope I explained that ok!

Devlin you may learn more about baseball if you go to a game but if you call it a 'match', some people in the stands might look at you funny. ;-)
