Subject: I didn't like How the Ghosts when I first saw it

Or maybe I just thought it was too weird! I remember thinking CC must be on drugs when he did that one. But it really grew on me. I will say that the getting shot part is not my favorite aspect of it in fact that's what I didn't like about it most on first viewing. It did seem a bit overdone.

But I too liked the beginning and ending bits (mainly the end! I thought Mulder's 'left cheek sneak' joke was stupid.). When Scully realizes that she wanted to be with Mulder just to BE with him and for no other reason I think that's very significant and marks a turning point so its an important episode. We also learn that Mulder wants her around too. I thnk the ghost chasing was just a convenient excuse. So again we learn something aboout him and it's important.

Other than that I loved the script. I thought the dialog spoken by the two ghosts analyzing M&S's psyches is among CC's best writing ever. And the performances by Asner and Tomlin were first rate.

And I loved the setting! Just an old fashioned haunted house! And I loved seeing both M&S really scared of a something. Really the only things I didn't love was I thought Scully was maybe a bit too hystrical and the rolling in blood scenes. But the rest of the episode was good enough for me to overlook what I didn't like as well.
I can't really say why you didn't like it. Only you can! But maybe the crawling scene held more weight for you as a negative than it did for me.
