Yes, poor guy - it isn't as if he has been put in there to create anarchy. It is using the situation that DD has created and has brought forward an opportunity for something new (is how I think CC would see it). If anyone could be criticised at this juncture, it is Twentieth Century Fox, for pushing for more and more seasons and not just allowing the stars to go out with a flourish. (At this point this is pretty much how I feel). It will certainly be interesting to see how the *real* fans respond. I'm sure most people are not nasty like the people Det describes.

I hadn't heard of Doggett at all until I was reading about the choice of Doggett's name in an interview CC gave. It was just by way of explanation. And you're right, Det, it would have been *most* unlikely I'd know his name by general knowledge, my knowledge of baseball stopping at DiMaggio!!!! :-)
