Subject: Monday and Dreamland II analysis
In reply to: detoured 's message, "Still more stuff Cookie Monster and Cvl..." on 00:52:52 09/11/00 Mon

I rewatched Monday and Milagro this weekend, to be able to say something more about them than "I liked it" and "I didn't like it". I wasn't really sure how I felt about Monday the first time around, but now I think it really is one of my favorites from the season. I guess I wasn't sure about it at first, because beforehand I expected not to like it because of the old idea, I mean, since I had already seen the movie Groundhog Day and the Xena episode Been there, done that; which both use the same idea. But I'm glad it turned out to be better than I expected to expect. I like almost everything about the episode (see, I don't complain about all the eps that much, I can be nice too, I guess it's easier to start writing about something you dislike than what you like), especially the little talks between M and S in their office. The guest stars were pretty good, and I liked the little differences even though the day always ended up (almost) the same way.

Det, you asked about Dreamland II, I liked the first part and thought it was quite funny (even though I was surprised to see a comedy two-parter, after expecting something serious, but I guess that's just 6th season for you), and was really looking forward to the second part, but I don't know what went wrong. I didn't like it that much, after the first part it just seemed kind of lame. It wasn't that funny. It wasn't exciting. However, it was a bit stupid. Everything went back to normal again when the people who had changed went back to the place of the change, and that's it? *Everyone* just forgot what had happened. I'm having a problem with accepting that.

I do like the Dreamland episodes as a whole, but personally I just think that the Dreamland I is better of the two. Milagro analysis will follow in the next post!
