Subject: All Souls - What has Mulder got against religion?

I watched All Souls again this week and I once more asked myself the question: what is the difference between Mulder's work on the XF and Scully's involvement with cases which have a religious element? Mulder is very often dismissive, almost disparaging, of the 'faith' position, but most of what *he* believes is fairly difficult to pin down and is certainly not often quantifiable in a scientific way. I have to add here that I am not a believer in God, but I think religious experiences, particularly visions such as Scully saw in 'All Souls' can at least be on a par with ghostly apparitions in the 'supernatural' scheme of things. Who thinks Mulder's behaviour is fair, and who thinks not?
