Subject: Bad Eps have Bad Plots
In reply to: Islandgirl 's message, "So what kind of "bad eps" are worse?" on 08:45:53 10/09/00 Mon

My worst eps are those whose plot don't inspire, at all. They would be closely followed by eps which have M & S acting against character. I have complete memory loss of eps like Teso dos Bichos, Hell Money and Agua Mala (and in Agua Mala, there was the combination of stupid plot *and* M & S acting out of character). Although I have not liked some episodes because I have not been inspired by them, I still respect CC's right to hire writers whose vision is a bit different. For example, I couldn't stand to watch 'Home' more than once, but M&S did have some interesting interaction in that ep. It comes down to boredom, in a way. Sometimes plots are just boring. There are also times when GA and DD have seemed like they are going through the motions. Being boring and unmemorable are the greatest crimes.

I don't enjoy the Mulder and Scully-less eps too much but at least you know what you are in for, at the outset and you take these eps as you find them. What about you?
