Subject: The big question is *did* both of them do it?

I mean - when Chris Carter wanted us to know that Skinner had had sex, we saw him actually in bed with the woman - a steamy scene. There was the opportunity to make it much clearer in '3' and 'Never Again' that M & S (respectively!)had had sex, but we didn't really get to know the full story. Noticeably, neither of them was very 'undressed' in the morning when we saw them again. One could argue that they had undressed to the minimum to lay down to sleep. On balance, I would say Mulder *did* sleep with Kirsten, but Scully *didn't* sleep with Ed. This doesn't answer your question does it?
OK: I think neither of our heroes is so immature as to mind relationships which the other has had. Scully was missing, possibly gone permanently in '3'. In 'Never Again' Scully was feeling quite down and undervalued by Mulder and it must have been flattering for someone to give her that kind of attention. I reckon for both of them it wouldn't be a case of forgiving but of acceptance that circumstances were different.
