I don't know about dummies, but I think the recap also helped to pull together seemingly disparate threads. It was this that was sometimes lacking as it has gone along. Having said that, I thought they made some of the main characters sound a little like they were telling a children's bedtime story. We even had Mulder tell Scully "That was the black oil, Scully". In reality, she would have replied: "I know all this! I have been taking part in this story for six years, Mulder!" It's a sort of selective amnesia, isn't it? Reminds me of the end of an Agatha Christie when one of the protagonists says "I'm sorry M. Poirot, you've lost me. *Why* did the priest leave the bag of lemons at the top of the fire escape?"

Our Krycek had the most dialogue he's ever had. That was fantastic. He was getting a bit cocky, laughing at Spender. I don't know, one minute he's being blown up, the next he's leading a Syndicate strategy meeting. Knowing him, he won't be complacent and has them all sussed! Ooooh!
