At least why didn't they show Monday before Milagro!?

I enjoyed this one when I first saw it and it continued to grow on me even more with it ending up being somewhere around my 7th fave of the season.

I found my emotions being yanked in two directions here. First we have all those lovely scenes of Mulder in his wet yellow PJs over and over (whoever came up with this idea must know all us Mulder fans very well!) and then we have poor Mulder getting repeatedly killed! Very stressful!

On it being dirivative, yes. But as you said, they did this on Star Trek too (Well I didn't know that as I don't watch ST:TNG but I was told). So many people kept going on about this being a rip off of Groundhog Day and that certainly has no claim on this plot. ST predated it. But the similarity for me goes back to an old Twilight Zone rerun actually. It starred Dennis Weaver as a prsioner on Death Row who had to relive his trial, conviction and execution ovr and over. Someeone ele told me thir is another old story in literature with this plot as well. Point being, it has been done before but most stories have. Rarely is anything completely new. What makes something good is if it can take a fresh approach and I thought this did. Whereas in Groundhog Day we have the lead character changing his behavior because he realizes himself what's happening, in this the characters most affected don't have a clue what's going on. Only the outsider, Pam, knows. (Good performance by Carol Burnett's daughter Carrie Hamilton. Especially the part where she had to read her lines while talking to Mulder on the steeet as he stared at her with those dramy eyes. How she kept her composure is anybody's guess! ;-) ). One of my favorite Mulder moments.

I also loved another single shot of him. When Scully tells him in the office that she will go to the bank for him so he can grt to the meeting, he has this expression where he's almost biting his lip and looking like a litl boy saying "Yes mom. I'll do just as you say! You know what's best" It's so cute! And I've never seen him slook so good in is reench coat! (I was never a big fan of that).
OK enough of that. Some of you can skip the previous part to avoid the Mulder drooling if you wish! :-)

I really enjoyed the normalcy of this one. Mat was talking about that earlier with another ep. It was fun to see Mulder doing something so banal like cashing a paycheck. I also liked their conversaions in this. LOL on Scully wondering since when did he get a waterbed. That Morris Fletcher really left his mark on things!

And I liked the slow mo photography in the later versions when Mulder awoke. And the way his dialog changed from him getting yelled at by the building superintendant to him just being annoyed and saying, "Ill pay for it!" What was happening with these repeated events was slowly sinking in even if he didn't realize it on a conscious level.

Skinner had some great looks too trying to kep his patience while M&S played, "Who's going to the bank this time" tag. I liked the desparation on both M&S's parts when they worreid about each othr's absense. This was really an actor's episode with good performances all around.

And Scully telling Bernard, "I have to get my partner out of here!" Never mind about all the other people in the bank! LOL Just save your man Scully! :-)

What I also found really interesting was watching Mulder as he slowly began to understand what was happening and yet still kept that level of confusion because every time was really the first for him. It took me more than once veiwing to catch on what he was doing when he repeated to himself, "He's got a bomb. He's got a bomb."--actually willing himself to store that bit of information in his subconscious, hoping he would remember it the next time around.

I liked the tenseness of this ep mixed with comedy and some familiarity. Great continuity with the waterbed and I agree, great full cirlce ending with Mulder back on his couch! In more fun PJ bottoms too! What, has he been shopping at Sears lately or something?! :-)

"I think it was a gift."
