Would you believe I hated this ep after I first saw it? It really left me with a bad feeling.

Over time I've softened on it somewhat. I thought the monster was so lame and considering this ep was shown out of order here because of delays with the special effects you'd think we would have seen the results of the extra time they spent!

The guy who played Gogolak used to be on a soap I used to watch.

What really bothered me initially with this was that I felt CC had brought the whole shipper debate to the forefront and that was the purpose of this whole thing and was esssentially saying, "See?! If Mulder and Scully got married, it wouldn't work!" I was sure the shippers would hate this episode but most didn't. I guess that proves I'm not one of them! I was just annoyed that CC would use an episode to make a point about an internet hot topic.

Of course I may have been wrong! :-) I've had lots of different viewpoints given to me on this. I did think some of the scenes were cute. I liked Mulder's bed invite and I loved his reaction to Scully's green mask.
My doggies were watching the scene where Mulder was putting the flamingo in the lawn! That fascinated them for some reason! But I didn't like Scully being so cold to Mulder. However, on closer inspection she's really teasing him as well.

I think he was having more fun than she was at playing house even though he claimed that's what she wanted to do. So perhaps the point was that it's him, rather than her who would be more interested in a domestic situation. Remember I'm coming from the viewpoint at this stage that Mulder now realizes he loves her. I know you may feel otherwise Devlin!
I think maybe he just loves to tease her and might know this type of life really wouldn't suit her.

I hated the toilet and toothpaste lines for the very reason you sid. Way too cliche. If they were going to do a domestic thing I think some more original ideas could have gone into it. I liked Mulder's orange juice carton as an almost bathroom though!

If it were me it would have been hard to say no Mulder's honeymoon video line! :-)

I thought this had the potential of being a good ep but fell short. Do you have those planned communities in England? They are popping up a lot here and they are indeed scary! All the houses looking almost identical behind guarded gates. And people do have to follow strict rules about how they keep their property. Like something out of a futuristc SF totalitarian society movie. It was a good idea for a premise but not enough was done with it.

I'd like to hear if you have anything else to add on this Dev. I still have to play catch up on the other Season 6 threads as well!

"Bring it On!"
