Subject: I had another idea on the jealousy or protectiveness thing...

Just for Alpha. I definately think Mulder was jealous in Milagro. ;-)

But in Alpha, I think Scully may have really been put off simply by the fact that Mulder had been having this 'relationship' with this woman and Scully knew nothing about it. I think maybe she feels they've reached a point where they will tell each other most everything and for him to suddenly say that he knows this woman because of an ongoing correspondance he's been having with her kind of upset Scully.

I mean for all intents and purepose (I'm not crazy about that overused expression but oh well!) they are the only two real friends each other has. Mulder has the Gunmen and they both kind of have Skinner but they also both know about those people.

This woman was a secret that he hadn't told Scully about. I don't think she was necessarily jealous of her because any romantic thoughts toward Mulder (not that she doesn't have any ;-) ), but I think her feelings were just hurt and the dominant Alpha female in her kicked in and she had to say, "He's mine and I know what's best for him!"
