Hi Sam!

I fear you may be right. It looks like it's going to take at least a couple more weeks. I e-mailed the BBC about it, but I've not yet had a reply. Hopefully, they haven't figured out I'm not Brittish, or I might never get one. I read a few things on a UK newsgroup that do not bode well though.

Here's some of what was on there:

"... However, the BBC has now decided not to show the series in one continuous run. In order to keep our weeknight schedules lively and interesting for all our viewers we have decided to make some changes to Wednesday nights on BBC ONE. With ongoing series such as 'The X Files', which is 20 episodes in all, we often take breaks at specific points in
order to provide a greater choice in our programme output. To diversify our schedules during the coming spring season, Wednesday evenings will see a rich mixture of feature films, home-grown series and groundbreaking documentaries over the next few weeks. We understand that the decision will not be popular with fans of 'The X Files' but as a public service broadcaster, we have to cater for the wide and varied tastes of all our viewers. In doing so, we cannot always commit prime time slots to one programme for an extended period.
Please be assured that 'The X Files' will be returning to BBC ONE later in the year, although no definite date has been set as yet. Thank you for taking the time to contact the BBC with your enquiry."

Sounds pretty bad, huh? :( And what is that about diversifying their schedules? I thought TXF differed more from their usual programs than anything they've scheduled to replace it.

I wrote my own e-mail with the reply above in mind, so I'm really curious how they are going to react to that.

Mat
