Subject: cvl in Season One watching mode!

You *are* being ironic when you say "Anyone remember S1?" aren't you? Thought so, cos I think no fan would ever discount or 'forget' S1, the place where it all started, the feeling that you had discovered this fantastic show all on your own and it fulfilled so many of your television watching needs. I don't know that I want to go into favourite season territory, because I happen to like and dislike eps in all the seasons, but I agree with Kenamon that the whole tone of everything, including the 'spook' factor, Mulder's very complex character and the MSR were set up really well in the first season.

You mentioned 'Fire' and I suppose as a Brit, I was more than a little annoyed at the typical view of British 'posh' public school, Oxford educated types. It isn't all of us! It was the first episode to offer us the sight of Scully in jealous mode; she does 'jealously annoyed' very well. Overall though, I liked the episode. I also *really* liked Deep Throat, Squeeze,Tooms, Ice, the Pilot, and The Erlenmeyer Flask.
