I loved the development of the MSR in season one precisely because they didnt trust each other at first. It's great the way it has evolved so slowly over time and quite fascinating. The really has never been another duo quite like them on tv before or since that are comparable.

From every fan post I've read Space is always one of the most hated eps. Critics sometimes have a totally different view than the fans do. I can't say I hated it. I just found it very uninteresting.

I know DD has lobbyed to give Mulder a romantic relationship over the years so maybe early on that was him doing as best he could to get one! I think at this point though Have you all heard about Season One being released on DVD here in the US? I don't have a DVD player but I've heard that the scenes from the beginning that had Scully's boyfriend Ethan are included. CC comments that they decided to cut him out because the M&S chemistry was just too hot (or some quote like that!).

Actually it might have been interesting for both of them to have SOs in the beginning and then watch as their reltionships fizxled because these other people just couldn't compete with the intensity of the Mulder-Scully dynamic. What do you think? Would a boyfriend and gilfrind for both or either of them have been a good or bad idea?

On another note, one Season One ep I like a lot but doesn't get talked about too much is Roland.
