I don't really rate Shiban too much, either, except when he co-writes. Isn't he the overall story editor though? Shouldn't it be his job therefore to spot boo-boos? Now, you see, I too was looking forward to a regular episode, but when it was that bad, I wished for Triangle every week! (Actually Triangle has already gone up in my estimation, since I decided it was a formulated Mulder dream, IMO)

When I watched TOE, and I was making my little comments on paper, to remind me of things - I also wrote that DD seemed tired. He was out of it. He was sort of floating along, somehow. I was thinking about Mulder searching the trash and I thought it was really tragic, how a man of his calibre and distinction should have to resort to going through the discarded shreddings like that. It was sad, I thought. Meanwhile, Spender seems to be making no pretence at all to be representing the XF cases that are presented to him. It's like he has already become CSM's property. Boo hiss!!!
