Subject: Krycek's disguise
In reply to: devlin 's message, "Sorry you didn't go for it, cvl" on 16:34:30 03/11/00 Sat

Apologies for showing up late. I was sick, then I was away, and all the while I was madder 'n a snake on a stick. OK, I know that's not the phrase, but these cold medicines affect a girl's ability to recall such stuff. Or maybe it's the nano-thingies. ;o)

Well, I have to say, I really enjoyed SR819. No, it wasn't shippy, but it was a good, old-fashioned X-File and we've been sorely missing those of late (and we'll be missing them again for a month or so, bleepin' beeb). I thought the way Mulder and Scully worked to get answers (no just jumping to some demonic solution without any evidence this time) and all the while Krycek was lurking in the background. Did everyone know that he was in this ep? Det said that it was a big secret in the States, and I'm not sure I would have guessed as quickly as I did if I didn't already know that the Rat-boy was making an appearance. Although I did recognise him wearing a balaclava in, ummmm, well that ep where he wore a balaclava. :D

I liked the special effects - very gruesome. And Skinner was great as always. I thought there were some touching scenes between him and Scully and the car scene when Krycek finally doffs his wiggy-ness and his face came out of the shadows was rather spiffing. Poor Skinner! How will Krycek use this huge amount of power that he's got over our favourite AD?

All in all, not an absolute fave, but I enjoyed the ride. A solid, old-style XF ep, and that can't be bad, can it?

Unfortunately, I have no quotes. Last watched it on Thursday morning and can't remember a single one.
