Subject: Mulder's sadness...
In reply to: devlin 's message, "I wanted to enjoy it in the way you describe" on 15:06:14 02/04/00 Fri

I may be interpreting your comments wrong Devlin but you seem bothered by Mulder's sadness in this and what the ghosts did to him by pointing out what's wrong with his life.

I think this added to it. Of course I just LOVE the Mulder ansgsty stuff more than anything so I liked seeing him tormented a bit! Partly becasue DD plays sad Mulder so well. (Considering my 3 favorite eps are Memento, One Breath and Paper Hearts you can see I love it when Mulder is in bad shape emotionally). But I also think this was a positive ep in that respect because it did make both M&S stop and think, which we saw at the end, about their relationship and what keeps them so often at a standstill. Not necessarily moving on in a shippy direction but just that they could learn to talk to each other more. Theyre together 95% of the time and yet are often so distant.

One common theory about why she doesn't invite Mulder for Christmas (or maybe she has but he's declined) is because of dear breother Bill. As Mulder said in Dreamland, "Your brother hates me." Muldr may not want to cause friction in the Scully family. Maybe he's thinking of Scully and her mom and wanting them to enjoy a nice holiday and doesn't want to spoil it with a Bill confrontation.

But where the heck is Mulder's Mom!? Waterskiing with the CSM?

Don't worry all of the off the wall eps so close together ws a common complaint. And um, I hate to break this to you but...welcome to Season 6!
