Subject: what did i think? liked it!
In reply to: detoured 's message, "I think he always listens..." on 01:50:56 02/06/00 Sun

'fraid its been a long long time since EBE! :(

Re: HTGSC - i did like it. to be honest - it takes alot for me to dislike an ep, i can also easily overlook little criticisms. so even if there are things i dislike about an ep, i rarely notice because i'm just too wrapped up in the whole thing! so the day i post saying i disliked an ep - you'll know somethings up!

but i did like this ep. full of some great moments. and it was another which had scenes where i was actually nervous - like i was about to jump or something. i like being scared!
i also liked the ghosts - i read what dev wrote about them and i can see her point. but i quite liked it when the spelt out all their faults. we all recognise them but they are rarelt spelt out. i didn't think there was much of a reaction to it from mulder and scully though, in fact to the whole experience. but some of the scenes where mulder and scully are apart and the ghosts are talking to them are great. i also liked the books flying out of the bookshelf.

as for the scenes where m and s are shot - kinda weird but i think i can see where CC was going with it. was it chantel that painted that great picture where mulder and scully are on the floor, blood everywhere, in pain, and have your self a merry little christmas is playing? i hadn't even thought of it like that! it was interesting to see mulder and scullys reactions to shooting each other - although it had been done before. but i think this time it was meant as a more light hearted approach - and IMHO - it did work.

the scene in the beginning in the car was also good. do you think scully's been yearning for a 'normal' life a little too much recently?! although i don't think it's what she really wants it does seem to come up in eps. and it was another mulder classic - the man will stop at nothing to get her to come on an XF!

this all reminds me of my original point about mulder not seeming to listen to what scully's saying. you're right - he may pretend not too but it shows his respect for her that he does. even if he doesn't believe. which *then* made me think of the bit in HTGSC when he said 'we're not lovers'. now you see, *this* is why i'm not a shipper! i think it says so much more for him that he does make a move on scully, and that he does respect her, and that they have this great friendship. their relationship IMHO is far to valuable to risk. but i seem to be staying from the point here, and i can sense eyes wandering! :) so i shall leave it at that.

hey det! wednesday brings terms of endearment! argh!!!!!! :)
lets see what good things we can come up with about this one! in fact i will post £1 (hey i'm poor!) to anyone who can post 10 seperate valid *good* points about terms.

cvl :)
