You've never heard of Asner and Tomlin eh? Well they may be more well known in the US but I think also that the fact that they haven't been so much in the public eye in a few years enters into it.

Have you ever seen reruns of The Mary Tyler Moore Show? Ed Asner played her boss, Mr. Grant. Of course if you say to me, Mary Tyler Moore? Who's that? then that won't help much!

Lily Tomlin is primarily a comdienne but has done drama too in films. "Nashville" is one I can think of off hand. She's pretty versatile. She's known for playing a lot of different characters talking about life similar to what Tracey Ullman does (do you know her?) and has done "One Woman Shows" on stage. Actually Tracey probably must have been very inspired by Tomlin. She came to fame first probably in the old tv series Laugh-In which you may not have ever heard of either!

I think Scully's gift to Mulder was a video too and maybe it was his own copy of "Superstars of the Superbowls" like the one he gave her when she was in the hospital.

Well I didn't really *enjoy* Mulder watching A Christmas Carol either. I just meant that DD played that scene extremely well and you just felt so bad for him. I love angsty Mulder!
