I agree the fainting seemed very unSculy like but I think it can be rationalized (Chantal's right, we can justify anything!) because she had no explanation for it. She had one for Leonard Betts. As she told Mulder, sometimes there are impulses in the body causing involuntary reflexes even after the body is dead. Or whatever she said--do I look like a doctor!? ;-)

But she had no explanation at all for the holes in Lyda and Maurice. Maybe she was studying them to make sure they were real and not just an illusion and when she saw that they were and couldn't explain it--plop!
That goes against what she told Mulder in her little spiel in the beginning. Suddenly there's no rational Scully eplanation to be had.

Regarding Mulder's religion, we still don't really have any definitive answers to that so he may celebrate Christmas. But even if he doesn't maybe he likes to think that Scully, who does celebrate Christmas would want to at least spend part of it with him. I still vote for it being a carefully thought out Mulder plot to get Scully to joi him on Christmas Eve. He found out about this house and the story attached to it and thought "Ah! Perfect!" This is Mulder's style rather than simply telling her he'd like it if she could spend part of the holiday with him. He did by her a present and so did she so she my feel the same and you know how badly they are lacking in the communication department.

You should hear his Christmas story about the fingers he did for a local radio show!

I agree on the keys and I think it may be true as Chantal and others have said that the ghosts couldn't do anything outside of the house so how could Maurice have possibly taken her keys? But this points out how desparate he was that she stick around.

Good comparison with Mulders expression in FTF. I love that look of wonder he gets. There's another one later in Season 6 that's a DOOZY you should just love! ;-)

Mulder did sound a litrle sad when he said, "We're not lovers". A bit of disappointment combined with frustration combined with being tired of people assuming that they are a couple which they've done before in eps like Small Potatoes. As if he's saying, 'No we're not but do you have to rub it in?' So I agree it was a great reading by DD becssue it could sound like Mulder wishes things eere different or then again it might not sound desparate at all. In part he was just pointing out a fact. Very cryptic the way he said it.
